Alot of the Solo Monks at Augury are Mo/E now. I watched one, he was using aftershock and crystal wave.

To get your life down to 55 hitpoints, use 5 Superior runes, each bringing your life down by 75 points. So at level 20 you would have a natural amount of 480 hp thus you get with the runes 5*75= 375 hp reduction, leaving you with 105 hp. Next use the -50 hp item from the Cities of Ascalon quest, giving the needed 55hp. If you can't get the -50 hp item you can probably use a -20 hp item, some people do that, but it isn't as effective. So with 55 hp the maximum damage you take when Protective Spirit is up is 5, and Healing Breeze and Mending replenish your health almost instantly.

Secondly, this build/guide is just a introduction to 55 hp monks. Because you only take 5 damage with this build, you can solo UW to or any other place. The thing that this build would have some trouble with are mobs that rend/shatter enchantments etc. Lots of conditions(bleeding, deep wound,poison/disease etc) would also make it quite difficult, since they hinder/cancel out the healing from Breeze/Mending.

Edit: A good read over at Guildwiki.org: http://www.guildwiki.org/wiki/Invincimonk

And no, it's not cheating the game, it's intended. Protective Spirit wouldn't be as useful then. And if it was cheating the game, it would of completely been nerfed already
Yeah like AoE... grumblegrumble

Ok guys, some of you might wonder why I am not updating this guide.

I rewrote an entire guide covering every aspect of the solo monk (including UW) and giving countless tips, with many images, which might be released tomorrow. Check the front page then

Pretty stupid to put smiting at 10 if you're going to use it for a rod (req 9 div favor with 20% skill recharge anyone? ) and balths spirit, that's 10 points more to put in div favor or prot spirit (as healing is good as it it at 13)

Don't find zealots fire useful in uw since the necro will be doing big damage anyway..

WOW!!!! Excellent Guide, one of the best guides I've read. No a 55'er myself (no monk), but the way you show it, a 5year old could do it :-)

No it's not pretty stupid at all. Not only does it help for the rod, it helps heaps for Bonetti's (especially against smites, you can take on so many with this build).

Why did you talk about Zealot's Fire? I never suggested it in my build -_-

BTW, you don't need more points in Divine Favor than you have now, as you aren't aiming to have an endless spellbreaker, but you want it to last long enough to take care of the Dying Nightmares. Protective Spirit lasts long enough too.

Great guide for the newbie solo monk. I have only started solo farming (outside Augury like the rest of them) recently and I wish I had read this guide first! I go as a Monk/Me with Mantra of Concentration to stop those rockshots interupting me. tbh I don't need it half the time, but the odd time you go out, they start spawing in the griffon areas.

I was able to farm the Hydras outside Augury (other exit) too, but the drops were awful and not worth the time. Is there any other spots (beside UW) that a solo monk can go farm?

You could farm Sand Wurms for Bleached Shells (I might write a quick guide for this, if requested)

Excellent guide. Thanks for the hard work.

However, I had experience that Prot. Spirit couldn't stop Shadow Strike from Dark Flame Dryder (Target foe takes 12...41 shadow damage. If that foe's Health is above 50%, you steal 12...41 Health.). I found this when I was farming at Perdition Rock. It's kinda against what PS says. Is this a bug? Did anyone else have the same problem?

Life steal is not damage, and therefore isn't effected by Prot spirit. Life steal is dirty, in the sense that it's un-defendable.

First off, I'd like to say this is an awesome guide, best I've found online. I also had a question. Is it worth adding points into Tactics for a Mo/W? Again, good job!

Quite extensive article on the 55 hp monk, well done.
This should stop most of the q's on the 55 monk. And that's always good ^^.
